Presentation to the Elkford Project Society by Brayden Smith
Brayden Smith, a grade 12 student at Elkford Secondary, recently presented to the Elkford Project Society on the importance of proper practice spaces for track and field. Brayden made a pitch to have the project society help Elkford Secondary create a concrete practice pad. Brayden has been to provincials twice for throwing events, and has recently signed an LOI with the University of Lethbridge track program for next year.
Brayden began this work to make track more accessible for all future athletes and was rewarded with a funding check of $4,445 from the project society and another $2,500 from USW to make this a reality! Way to go Brayden and thank you for your leadership on helping future generations of track athletes for Elkford Secondary! Also, a giant thank you to the Elkford Project Society and USW for their generous support of our school.
